Dr. Mohammad Saffari has been a researcher in the area of building and energy engineering for more than 4 years. He joined the ESIPP as a postdoctoral researcher in July 2018. He specialises in sustainable and energy-efficient buildings, and renewable energy systems. He holds a PhD degree in engineering and information technology from Universitat de Lleida (UdL), Spain. His doctoral thesis entitled “simulation-based optimization of thermal energy storage (TES) materials for building and industry applications”, was accomplished at GREiA Research Group, Universitat de Lleida. Moreover, part of his doctoral thesis was carried out at the University of South Australia (UniSA), Australia. He actively participated in several international projects such as INNOSTOARGE and InPath-TES. His main areas of research include energy efficiency in buildings, TES, thermal comfort and occupants’ behaviour simulation in buildings, urban energy simulation, optimization of energy systems, and demand side management (DSM) using renewable energy integration.
